Prior to 3rd Ridge, the founder and team have completed over $250 million in projects across the United States; ranging from ground-up development, re-development, to capital & deferred maintenance initiatives. Founded by Matt Bitter, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, former U.S. Navy SEAL officer, and Wharton MBA, 3rd Ridge brings together deep leadership experience along with development, construction, and on-the-ground management expertise. 3rd Ridge has a relentless commitment to delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Founder’s Background
Matt Bitter brings over 15 years of leadership and real estate experience to his role as Founder and CEO of 3rd Ridge. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelors of Science and a concentration in engineering, Matt served 9 years as a U.S. Navy SEAL officer. In this role, he led teams of 21 enlisted SEALs, planned and executed over 100 combat missions across Afghanistan, Somalia, and Germany, and oversaw $10M+ in humanitarian and infrastructure projects.
Following his military service, Matt earned an MBA from The Wharton School with a Master’s in Law from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, he managed 100 million+ at Blackstone in the real estate group. Together with his brother, Matt turned around and renovated a distressed hotel returning it to back to profitability within the first year of operations.
Most recently, Matt served as Director of Operations for Aker, a private equity group focusing on multifamily and mixed-use product. Matt oversaw $900M in assets across 13 properties, 3,500 apartment units, 53 retail spaces, and led over $50M in deployed capital of physical improvement projects.
